This web site is operated
by the Elkins Area Bands Auxiliary (EABA). We are the organization
of band parents who volunteer their time and talents to support the
Elkins High School and Elkins Middle School bands.
This support includes
fundraising activities to pay for the monetary needs of the bands
such as buying uniforms, instruments, music and paying transportation
costs, as well as providing the help in keeping track of, collecting,
and repairing uniforms, providing band camp and trip chaperones,
pulling the trailer,
and the parent pit crew that helps set up the pit at band shows.
For our organization to
be successful, we need the help and support of all our band students,
parents, and our local community.

*ANNOUNCEMENT*
EHS Band Parents and Students
Let me start off by saying that I
am very excited to be the new Band Director of "The Spirit of the Mountains." I
know that many of you have a lot of questions about what is going to happen this
Summer and Fall, and I will answer as many questions asap. We need to have a
Parent/Student Informational Meeting very soon. Hopefully you will find that the
Band Activities this summer are not that much different than last year. This
should make for a smooth transition for the up coming season. I know that it is
almost July and we don't have very much time to get things going so I am
providing some dates so we can get everything organized.
Thursday July
1st - Parent Informational Meeting EHS Auditorium
6:00pm
At
this meeting I will hopefully answer many of your questions about the activities
this Summer and Fall. I know that this is short notice but we need to get
started very soon.
June
30th July 1st & 2nd - Tigerette Clinics and Auditions
EHS 9:00am - 12:00pm
Auditions July
2nd Time TBA
All interested girls need to be at these
Clinics and Audition. If you have any questions please address them at the July
1st meeting with Farrah. I know that this is also short notice
and that there is a possibility that these dates will not work for everyone. We
may be able to have a Make-Up date but remember with this short of a timetable I
may not be able to accommodate everyone. For this I do apologize, but I will do
my best so that everyone interested will get a chance. Pass the
word.

9th @ 9:00am Drum Major Auditions
All who are interested in
trying out for Drum Major must be there for these clinics and
auditions.
With all of this that I am trying to get done I need your
help. If you know of anyone that is going to be, or wants to be in band this
fall please let them know about these dates. I know that we are trying to get
this information to everyone but there may be some that we missed. So please
pass the word. If you know anyone that used to be in the band and wants to come
back, tell them about the meeting on the 1st. I would like to have everyone in
the band this fall.
I know that we have a lot of work to do and not
much time to do it in. However, I am looking for an exciting and productive
season. Hope so see you on the 1st.
